Summary[]
Near a tree, Yi Moon complains that he can't continue as his feet hurt. Jae-ha doesn't care and wants him to stand up and continue. Yi Moon reminds him that he is the crowned prince, which only annoys Jae-ha as he states that the crown prince died last month. As they argue, Jae-ha gets angry and feels he had enough of the kid and tells him to get to Jiyulheon by himself. Jae-ha attempts to leave, while Yi Moon recalls how his father died and was told to go to Jiyulheon. Yi Moon also recalls how he met Jae-ha, and offered him 50 ryo to bring him to Jiyulheon. Yi Moon reminds Jae-ha about the money he promised him and mentions he may increase it to 60 ryo, and upon hearing that Jae-ha changes his attitude and decides to carry Yi Moon.
They reach Saam-Ri, a village closed on all sides by mount Keum-Ryeong. Yi Moon wonders where are all the villagers and Jae-ha explains that its been seven years of endless war and drought. Jae-he smells some blood and leaves Yi Moon and goes to check the smell. Inside the house, he sees several corpses and quickly rushes back to Yi Moon, but he was gone.
Meanwhile, Yi Moon met a young girl Suni, who told him they had food and water and he follows her to her house. Yi Moon meets Sumi's father and they serve him a meat stew, but before he ate it, he sees human parts in it and throws it on the ground. Jae-ha arrives and Yi Moon tells him the father and the girl were murderers, but Jae-ha just leaves. The girl warns them that its not safe when the sun goes down.
As they continue their journey, Yi Moon keeps complaining that Jae-ha left them and he explains they didn't do anything wrong and were just trying to survive. At Suni's house, some warriors keep her hostage and ask her father to tell them where the travelers went. The man explains he doesn't know and just mentions the direction they left, after which the men kill him and his daughter Suni.
Seeing a hawk, Yi Moon realizes the Shadow Warriors are close and as he attempts to run, he injures his leg. Jae-ha starts running with Yi Moon, but the warriors manage to catch up quickly. They explain that the man and the girl are dead for their crime of eating human flesh and that they want the prince. Jae-ha then realizes Yi Moon is indeed the prince and requests 10 more ryo to protect him. Jae-ha starts fighting them and manages to kill two of them. As the sun sets, corpses begin to move
